Organized in 1952, MNGA supports interest in nut and fruit bearing trees, their products and their culture. The three most popular nuts grown in Michigan are English (Carpathian or Persian) walnuts, chestnuts and hazelnuts. We have members interested in black walnuts, butternuts, hickory nuts, heartnuts, pecans, buartnuts and other nuts as well as in minor fruits such as pawpaws and persimmons.
