The Washtenaw - Livingston Rail Line (WALLY) is a proposed commuter rail service which would link the Michigan cities of Ann Arbor and Howell.
Proposal
Trains would run daily over existing trackage owned by the Great Lakes Central Railroad, which has also committed to providing ten stainless-steel bi-level passenger cars.
No agreements have been reached to use the Ann Arbor Railroad lines, and thus the current plans have the WALLY line stopping short of the center of Ann Arbor.
History
The Ann Arbor Railroad ran passenger service on this line at one point; in 1902, the trip from the Ann Arbor to the Lakeland station took 35 minutes.
