Orland is a small community not far from Chico with a population of just over 6,000 according to the 2000 U.S. Census. It is located just west of Chico along Highway 32 and is one of the most direct access points to Interstate 5 from Chico. The town is surrounded by agricultural land and is just west of the Sacramento River. At only 20 miles away from Chico, it is closely tied to our town. Many students from Chico State choose to live here because of cheaper rent rates and the ease of being able to jump back on "[Interstate-5"] to head home. During the summer months, you can visit the nearby Farm Sanctuary. Orland also has a large number of geocaches in the area, for being such a small town. One of the biggest appeals of Orland is its proximity to to Black Butte Lake, which is frequently used for boating, skiing, events and just all around fun.

Orland is in the Guinness Book of World Records as having the largest amount of Churches per capita.

2008-07-27 13:46:30   See Gridley for an example page for a town near Chico — it uses headers since it isn't expected that the page will grow too large. If you need a page specific to Orland, I recommend postfixing (Orland) to it — i.e., Restaurants (Orland). If a business or location name is very unique to Orland, then that postfix isn't necessary.
