Barngalow, from Cliff Road, 2009 Barngalow from Park Avenue, 1984 (6 Cliff Road, above, right) Address: 40 Cliff Road

Old Address: 108 1/2 Park Avenue

Architect of the conversion: Thomas Nash (presumably, as he designed the other houses on this lot)

Year built: 1910

Other information: A two-story cure cottage that was originally a barn, belonging to the house at 110 Park Avenue, owned by the Reverend Walter Larom, rector at St. Luke's Episcopal Church from 1889 - 1909. The barn was converted into a house like a bungalow about 1910; the Laroms moved into it and rented out the larger home, along with 112 Park Avenue.

The 1917 Health Survey indicated a tuberculous resident, possibly Mrs. Larom or her sister Anna Nash. A servant is also listed, possibly a nurse.
