2012-01-09 10:38:52 A small and welcoming community located in downtown Santa Cruz. The building is open for tours and private devotion (unless otherwise posted) every Saturday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The building interior is noted for its beautiful Byzantine iconography. The community is composed of peoples of American,Greek, Romanian, Slavic and Arabic backgrounds. The services are in mostly English and Greek. The Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church hosts every September their Greek Food Festival along Church Street, as well as a Greek Food Faire in the spring at the back of their property.
