Los Verjeles Road forms the northeastern border of Loma Rica and runs north-south between it and Bangor.

Los Verjeles Road is part of the Smartville ophiolite and therefore has serpentine soil, which is difficult for most non-native garden plants to grow in but beneficial to many rare and endangered native plants. In 1921, botanist Alice Eastwood collected samples of native El Dorado larkspurs¹ and Hartweg's doll's lilies² growing near Los Verjeles Road.
