Los Verjeles Road forms the northeastern border of Loma Rica and runs north-south between it and Bangor.

Los Verjeles Road is part of the Smartville ophiolite and therefore has serpentine soil, which is difficult for most non-native garden plants to grow in but beneficial to many rare and endangered native plants. In 1921, botanist Alice Eastwood collected samples of native El Dorado larkspurs1 and Hartweg's doll's lilies2 growing near Los Verjeles Road.
