Event Name

Date/Time Location Description
RISE!  Stand United.  Stand Strong America - A Tribute to 9/11 Survivors, Victims & Heroes Wednesday, September 11, 2024; 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

The Flame of Liberty Memorial, Los Gatos Civic Center,

110 East Main Street

Los Gatos, CA 95030

Nearly 3,000 people were killed when the hijacked planes were flown into the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon near Washington, DC, and when United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in the Pennsylvania countryside outside of Shanksville, PA.  Two local United Flight 93 heroes attempted to take back cockpit control from terrorists - Todd Beamer and Mark Bingham.  Todd and Mark never wore a uniform and never attended any military training.  Many would say they were killed in action.  Their selfless acts of courage prevented the Capitol Building and all within it from being annihilated, and our government escaped harm at a crucial time when it was critical to act against terrorism.  Americans have demonstrated on numerous occasions that they know how to RISE AGAIN, STAND UNITED, STAND STRONG.  9/11 was no exception.  Today is proof positive that America knows how to RISE.  Join us to commemorate the lives of Mark Bingham, Todd Beamer, and the many first responder heroes and military service members called to serve on 9/11 and in the Global War on Terror.  Free event.  Outside.  All invited.  Visit https://honoravet.org/ to learn more.
