Laurel Curve is the right hand turn (as you go south) right at the intersection with Laurel. Another place traffic announcers use to indicate where things have gone wrong on 17.

Due to a number of fatal accidents at this intersection, CalTrans currently has the center divide blocked off to prevent southbound travelers on 17 from turning (or sliding) into oncoming traffic. Those wanting to turn onto Laurel from SB 17 need to go farther south - to at least Sugarloaf - to find a place to turn around and double back.
