The Cats is a restaurant just south of the town of Los Gatos, on the west side of Highway 17. It has a long history - I hope someone will add it here - but for the purposes of this page it is a commonly referred to location by traffic reports since it marks the beginning of the climb into the Santa Cruz Mountains, and the access to and from the freeway is semi-limited and accidents are not infrequent there.
