I am an ancient pirate,
Sailing the sea of life.
I find booty and treasure,
Amid turmoil and strife,
Roaming the land with a yearning, and
A hunger for joy and knowledge and learning.
History, animals, and science--collectively my game,
Writing and editing--my claims to fame.
The next destination, I have yet to sort;
For now, Raleigh, NC, serves as my home port.
