Josh Simon is a senior systems administrator, project manager, and technical writer, employed since 2008 as a Senior System Administrator for The University of MichiganCollege of Literature, Science, and the Arts, working primarily with the LSA IT Infrastructure Team.

Josh was the Desk Editor of SAGEwire during its existence and a long-time LISA (formerly known as SAGE) and USENIX contributor, having served on 6 LISA program committees (19971999200020022003, and 2015) and been an external reader/reviewer for 8 more (2005200820092010201120122014, and 2017). Josh was  appointed to the SAGE Executive Committee for the January 2002–February 2003 term, and was the chair of and project coordinator for the SAGE Online Services Committee until early 2004. He's written summary write-ups for several USENIX Annual Technical Conferences and LISA conferences in the past, as well as coordinated others' USENIX Annual Technical Conference and LISA Conference write-ups for publication in ;login: for several years. At U-M, in addition to his regular job administering college servers, especially those for the web content management systems (CMS), he was a member of the Best Practices and Technology Team, and in his second year was that team's representative to the Core Team, of the VOICES of the Staff program (June 2012 through June 2014). When his term expired he became a team facilitator, continuing as a facilitator after it became the Leveraging Technology team in June 2015. He plans to step down from facilitating in June 2018.

Josh is also active behind the scenes in Michigan IT, as a member of the annual Michigan IT Symposium planning committee (2014 et seq.) and as a member of the Michigan IT News working group.
