2008-12-04 11:07:04 Hello there Province! Welcome to the Wiki! The reason Ryan kept changing the page from the first person is that this wiki is about the entire community. It is edited by everyone in Chico who wants to take part for the benefit of everyone who wants to read it. Outside user pages, no one person is really responsible for the content of any given page, it's up to the entire community. Hence the wiki tends to take a third-person point of view, since it is the perspective of a wide range of people, not just one organization (even when the page is about a particular organization). Sorry for any frustration that might have caused, but we strive to represent the whole community. —StaceyEllis
I get the sense that you're pretty new to the whole wiki thing. There are some things to be aware of: other people will edit articles that you create. You just have to make sure nothing inappropriate is going on, and I think we are pretty good about that. You aren't alone in wanting a high quality article. Articles don't belong to anyone in particular, they belong to the community, so you really can't just delete and disappear. Someone else (perhaps someone not sympathetic) will inevitably write the same article. Be well, - Greg Bard

However I was willing to let it slide — but that would give no guarantee that other members of the community would rewrite it into the 3rd person again. The editors above already discussed that in some detail. I would love for you to continue adding to the Saint Catherine of Siena Parish page — for example, Greg suggested adding details such as its history.
