The best way to put an image above a table is to put your cursor in the top table cell and then press the up arrow key (like word), you'll then be on a new, blank line. Then you can use the image button to add an image. If you double click on the image, you will then have the option to float it to the left or the right (right is usually best). To drag an existing image to this same spot, use the same up-arrow in table cell, and drag the image to the empty line. Hope that helps!
