Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous is an evening of four-20 minute lectures from 7-9pm.
The mission of the LASERs (Leonardo is the International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology) is to provide the general public with a snapshot of the cultural environment of the Bay Area/Davis area and to foster interdisciplinary networking with an emphasis on art and science. Piero Scaruffi has been holding them at USF in San Francisco, Stanford University and UC Berkeley. UC Santa Cruz also has LASERS.
Every LASER has four presenters (from four different disciplines and as unrelated as possible), plus time for socializing and discussion. These short presentations for an audience of artists, scientists and generalists are followed by Q/A, which usually evolves into a lively discussion. See an archive of past presenters at
