The University has a main campus in town but also a much larger campus, which is still under construction called Campus Melaten. RWTH Aachen also does research in Jülich in cooperation with the research center.

The "Uniklinikum" is the hospital affiliated to RWTH.

  • RWTH Aachen University is one of 11 universities in Germany which were awarded a special grant for its concept for the future as part of the "Exzellenzinitiative" of the federal government. These universities misleadingly are referred to as "Elite Universities" which is an overstatement, since these unversities are not necessarily much better than other universities or have especially good teaching environments.
