Balloon Fiesta

: The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a yearly festival of hot air balloons that takes place in Albuquerque, NM USA starts first Saturday of October. The Balloon Fiesta is a nine-day event, and has over 500 balloons each year. The event is the largest hot air balloon festival in the world.

Gathering of the Nations

: The Gathering of Nations is the largest Pow-wow in the United States and North America. It is held annually the fourth weekend in April, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Over 500 tribes from around the United States and Canada travel to Albuquerque to participate. There are 32 Dance categories, and different age group categories including Elders (70+), Golden Age (55+), Adults (19+), Teens and Tiny Tots. Other competitions include Northern Singers, Southern Singers, Women's Back-up Singing, and a competition for Drum Groups and Drummers and other various special competitions. A pageant for Miss Indian World is held each year. The winner is chosen based upon personality, knowledge of tribal traditions, and dancing ability.

Day of the Dead

: is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican ancestry living in other places, especially the United States. It is acknowledged internationally in many other cultures. It’s celebrated in Albuquerque’s south valley with a parade and many other venues going for the Holiday.

 

 

Railyards

: The Rail Yards Market of Albuquerque operates on Sundays from 10am-2pm during the months of May-October. We are a community organized market celebrating all things local and at the heart of New Mexican culture. We are so much more than your typical Farmer's or Grower's Market--every Sunday you can peruse 100's of New Mexico's finest food, farm, artisan, and healing vendors, hear live musicians, and come away enriched from our educational/demonstration zones for kids and adults! All this under one roof at the historic Blacksmith Shop at the heart of our City!
