Business Arising

  1. powerline infrastructure update.

    • CEO has written to SA Power Network reiterating DCMB and local affected residents view requesting underground consideration.

- application has yet to be considered by DAC

- opportunity for some community comment should follow

b. heritage community consultation update [see Reports] Copy of 2008 Main Street Design Guidelines available to all [ only first 16 pages.Individual sections eg Outdoor Dining, Signage can be found on the website.]

c. 175 anniversary plans HBTA, Academy, schools.   Action Ann

Correspondence

In  -  Hahndorf Primary School “ Hahndorf History Trail and Community ICT Support”

Sculpture Symposium application for next round of sculptures 2014. $30,000 needed if Hahndorf wishes to sponsor a 2nd sculpture.

Out  -  Response and follow up meeting with Tim Thornton HPS.

Reports

Financial, $3441.00 in hand Grant money from DCMB [500.00] plus further $480.00 purchased Toshiba Sattelite laptop for Village Voice use.  Appropriate documents sent to DCMB.

Council.- Auricht Rd footpath completion dependent on concrete contractor

- Pioneer Park toilets awaiting trenching etc. Safety fence completed

- Village green look being discussed with John Buchan input.

- English St corner footpath on work force list. [HCA recommended this widening]

- Street light bollards being sought as poles are now not available.

- Beerenberg footpath improvement in 2013/14 budget discussion.

Subcommittees – to act as action groups toward our objectives.

* Heavy trucks – sub committee meet April 24 9.30 at Kaffehaus Pedestrian study moving to concept plan stage.

*Parking - thinking is along lines of the Stirling Tiers area, whereby vacant contiguous land is leased out by property owners under a Management Agreement type system .Businesses which require extra parking for development/ customers could local into this initiative. Proposal by John Ashcroft which has merit.Would require DCMB consultation .Currently some resistance from small businesses.

* Beautification - set up ‘carrot’ reminder method for traders to take responsibility for plants Action Gail.

  1. - consider unseen volunteer assistance.

*Masterplan - familiarise ourselves with statements/endorsement by DCMB in 2005/08 guidelines, thereby leverage for any challenge to a development application.

* Village Voice - letter from resident re proper process when reporting art matters. Next edition June Sub committee April 18 .at 9a Auricht Rd. New volunteer Jeremy Roberts.

* Barkerwiki outside volunteer unable to continue .

* Heritage - Press release re. outcome of community consultation tabled and read. Accepted.

- Over 40 responses, representing community support.

  • Request by Lions for use of PA system for Anzac Dawn Service.
  • Tim Thornton HPS – share information as to what town history projects have been completed/in train . Support the grant application and concept.

  • Wreath making for Anzac Dawn Service Institute 2.00pm Wednesday 24th April. All residents welcome.
