Business Arising

Master Plan 

Submission progress. Jim sent follow up letter to Ros McDougal. Jean/Ann collaborating on a maximum 2 page submission. What do we want, Why, and Vision. DCMB staff create the How. Table for comment at next Committee meeting, then to Council by December. Traders and National Trust comment to be  sought.

Heavy Trucks

Phil/Bruce met. Revised letter sent to David Collins DCMB, who responded. Barossa contact prepared to share their successful approach. Rick asked that this be included in the Strategic plan. Maureen sent letter containing facts of traffic flow and growth potential.   Much appreciated.

AGM

Jean, Ann, Rick met with Chris Daniels. CV in hand. Advertising now essential. WIne and cheese to be sourced. Invitations sent to DCMB staff, Advertising in press, VV Notice board, Facebook Action Ann.   Assistance needed to set up on 16th, and ensure electronics work . Action ALL

Digital progress

Tony spoke on this. Jean will manage the Group Facebook page. She is posting about 3 times per week in order to create a following.  Anyone of us can do this. [ 8 members so far.  Local Wiki available for access also. A4 sheet insert into Village Voice, explaining use and purpose.

Correspondence

In /Out  Ros McDougal re Strategic Plan input.  David Collins re heavy traffic.  Harold Gallasch re. name of Main St.-seeking letter of support from HCA .  Protracted discussion on this matter as a process is involved in name change/choice. Motion" that a letter of support for this proposal to be forwarded to DCMB.   Moved M Brooke, 2nd M Hasler.  2nd motion discussed . Should this committee make a similar proposal to DCMB on grounds of heritage . Not taken.

Query from Ben Vardaro as to location of old destroyed building at 100 Main St. Follow up. Action Ann.

At this point Rick vacated the Chair. Jim chaired meeting.

Financial

$3738.14 at 12.08.2015 This carries $550.00 for Nixons Mill project, and $870.40 for 175th booklet.

Entrance Statement

i. Design sought 6 unsuccessful graphics presented.  ii. agreement process with Palmas continuing. Parking space required.

Council Matters 

Jeff reported that most activity has been around policy matters.

* Public meeting of DPA regarding Mt Barker town Centre.

* Opposition to high rise block proposed for Hack St/Cameron Rd area. - flood plain.

* Hahndorf issue.  Mud and building rubbish in creek from Beerenberg construction site EPA involved.

Heritage subcommittee

No report. Be aware of appeal process for new resort on Windsor Ave.  Moody's barn in danger as owner unable to maintain the building.

Heavy Vehicles

Nixon's Mill project

Andrew Gotzheim is Project manager.Meeting in early September, open to the public for information dissemination Courier to be included. Discussion around process of and concept. Request that plan be tabled at next meeting.

Village Voice

On track, having to cut back articles, will be at printer by month end.

General Business

Academy director, Kate Wake has resigned...George Van Pellekan also due to ill health.
