4.Business Arising

a. Power line infrastructure update No report.

b.Heritage /streetscape update Good support from media. Meeting with Mayor and planning staff to be booked Action Jim.

c.175th  anniversary - no report.

d.Council work – footpath works at English St corner, Auricht Road -initial underground pipe marking Pioneer Memorial Gardens.

e. Anzac Day – wreath making

Remembrance Day HCA facilitates.

Financial  Balance 6.05.2013 $3558.33 Accepted as read.

Council   Cr Bettcher not available.

Sub Committees

Heavy trucks.  Phil H. Signage report presented 2008 to Council. New correspondence to be sent to DCMB as heavy vehicles not conforming to weights. Policing needed. Action Phil/ Rick.

Parking.   John Ashcroft’s plan based on Stirling Tiers plan .He will work with HCA re. this as from July. Noticeable increase in traffic inside streets each weekend, at Institute and IGA.

Beautification . Some traders are becoming a little too creative.Chalk etc.No action re further improvements

Village Voice. On the way Max Noske story covered. Volunteer emphasis. Jeremy Roberts assisting .

Barkerwiki. No report. Tony needs assistance.

Heritage.   Margaret spoke on combined meeting of Hills Heritage Groups held at Stangate House May 7th.  Speaker Emeritis Professor. Norman Etherington. National Trust Chairperson [possible speaker for AGM]

  1. 2014 anniversary of WW1. $100,000 available to all

Federal seats including Mayo towards a memorial/activity. Action Margaret/Ann?.

Main Street Masterplan. Compliance officer should be enforcing regulations

7. Any Other Business

1. Jean Germano resident 21 Strempel Ave expanded on waterways/ planning issues arising from a development on 18 Molens Rd. Ms Germano requested that a review be brought to the attention of Elected members

  • category 3 development therefore no notification from DCMB

  • 12 sq meters of Strempfel Ave property removed [creek bank]

  • Storm water run off for development is above ground and into creek, thus creating greater flow.

  • 2 new 2 storey buildings on raised soil base.

  • Has required legal representation .

  • Submission to Ombudsman. Martha Savas deals with DCMB /Ombudsman matters

  • Ombudsman indicated that towns must have a flood management plan watercourses should not be stressed section 270 internal review by DCMB should be instigated. Council should abide by Objectives.
