Minutes of Committee Meeting held Wednesday May 14th 2014 at 9.30am

in the Hahndorf Institute Supper Room


 

1.Present

R Harcourt, E Aliffe, J Germano, G Vort Ronald, R Grivell, J Buchan, T Finnis, J Fowles. W Williams, M Hasler, M Brook, B Mouatt, A Haines.  Chairman welcomed Di Willis.

3.Minutes of Previous Meeting - April 9

Confirmed M Hasler 2nd J Fowles with correction Letterhead correction - 1 address.

 

4. Business Arising

4.1 Pioneer Memorial Gardens Official Opening. Attended by all N Ward Councillors, several DCMt Barker staff.   Disappointment from community members that this was not more widely publicised , giving local residents opportunity to attend and express their delight.

* Query re modesty screen in front of toilets.   Request Crs Bettcher/ Westwood to investigate possibility for this addition. Action Ann

4.2 175th Celebrations Committee . Meeting to be held 14 May to explore next events. ie Football and other sporting groups gathering July 19th

Musikfest June 14th

State Band Championships September 19 -21. Committee plans to 'piggy back 'on this. Details pending as full street parade not viable. Long Lunch considered depending on locations available due to Band competition. Traders Committee consulted.

4.3 Sir Tony Robinson's Tour of Duty response. Large crowd, Balhannah Rd closed , National Trust, State Library,Legacy nominated for stalls, CFS sausage sizzle.Considerable local input provided, little confirmation given to locals, however TOD Organisers reported high quality of items and stories used.

4.4 Memorial re location Community acceptance, worked well for Anzac DAwn Service. Question as to whether a time capsule had been found.  Follow up Action Ann

4.5 Letter head . Change to - PO Address and email for Secretary,contact for Chairperson and Treasurer. Simplify mail delivery. Action Ann

6.Reports

6.1Financial Balance 14.05.2014 $3773.04 includes $870.00 for 175th final records.

6.2 Heavy Vehicle Management - No letter as yet from Brian Clancey. DCMtB. Action Phil  Wombat crossings. Community Consultation June. Noted 3 traffic counters on Main St. Seek reason Be alert.  Action Ann

6.3 Bald Hill Interchange - discussion as to whether this will affect flow in Hahndorf.  Seek copy of original Study in order to be informed Read Transport report, ask through Jamie Briggs office Action Rick/Bruce

6.4 Nixons Mill. No movement. Budget has contingencies for this project, therefore  keep highlighted.

6.5 Village Voice -proceeding Discussion re. advertising . Agreed that large inserts should only be for local community event information- not advertising.  Care taken for balanced/discriminatory advertising as integrety is monitored.

6.6 Council Matters. In Jeff's absence reported

i.DPAP making changes to rural land use

ii. Budget almost complete Rates 5% increase.

iii.works depot moving to Lataringa area.

iv building inspections across DIY, new buildings , pools to be increased considerably.

6.7 Heritage Preservation.

* difficulty finding effective intervention time in application process.

* Planners not providing information on Heritage application as promised.

7. General Business

7.1 PA system . Unreliable, battery fails. Seek costings to hire for 3-4 annual events.  Action Ann

7.2 Remembrance Day procedure. Protocol and style of ceremony overview at June meeting.  Request that wreaths be left for longer.

7.3 Speed review in Adelaide Hills. Discussion . Individual responses on line

7.4 Footpath to Beerenberg Initial exploratory meeting with Carol Paech May 19th .

8.2 Parking - can Stirling arrangements be copie din Hahndorf. Speak with John/ Jason.

8.3 IGA -opening onto Auricht Rd Any decision.
