Minutes of Committee Meeting held Wednesday May 13th 2015 at 9.30am

in the Hahndorf Institute Supper Room

At this point Mr Jamie Tann and Mr Peter McGinn from DCMB spoke with the committee regarding their Council responsibilities and how HCA can progress our concerns regarding street clutter and Liquor Licensing matters.  { see separate notes.} Chairman Rick thanked these representatives for their time and input.

Business Arising

Anzac Dawn Service  

Managed by Hahndorf Lions.   HCA prepared 16 wreaths with St Francis School students and teachers plus 20 for local community organisations.  Donations of $160. Costs $60.

Letter to Mr Waller DCMB. Response from G Sarre noting our input .

AGM

Booking St Michael's Church Worship Centre booked for September 16th.  Invitation to Dr Chris Daniels to be guest speaker as ties in with Strategic Planning.  Dr Daniels has accepted.  Professor of Biology,Urban environment development credentials, Presiding Member of the  Mt Lofty Ranges NRM Board..to nominate a few.

Heritage Sub Committee

i. Jean tabled the notice of Refusal for Development application of River Road block.  Eric had researched position of No 84 ? Main Street -former Schuard home and one of the remaining 1930s icons on Main Street.  Application for development has been examined at Council, category unknown, now sent to State Heritage Branch. NB Development is on basis of the facade which should not be changed. Proposed use is for medical purposes, land to creek is property of landowner. NB Comment from floor. Heavy Vehicle Sub Committee

i. D. Collins [ DCMB] wrote to DPTI re HCA ongoing concerns about heavy vehicle use of Main Street. ii. Response from DPTI indicated no excessive heavy vehicle count noted in 2014. Therefore no action.

iii. Letter prepared stating sub committee's case. -including refuting DPTI claim that no other option is available to bypass Hahndorf .

iv. Chair of sub committee seeking full HCA Committee support to proceed with more active intervention. Unanimous approval. Action Rick, Phil, Bruce. 

v. Suggestion Re visit Hahndorf Freeway run off.

Nixon's Mill Project

May 27 at 10.00am  Open meeting to be chaired by Andrew Gotzheim DCMB in Institute. National Trust from Mt Barker invited, Peramangk representitive.  Plan has been modified.

Village Voice

Gail has kept the format moving, adjusting as articles and reports coming in. Final articles being followed up this week. Printer [Jamie Briggs Office ] notified of imminent copy.

General Business

Remembrance Day Ceremony

Invitations to schools, politicians, Mayor being prepared. Action Ann.  Need to consider format, speaker etc.  Action Bruce

Licensing Matters

i.- to be addressed in consultation with Peter Mc Ginn DCMB [ see notes].  ii.Noise levels from outdoor band concert on April 21 caused discomfort for many residents . Note to this effect sent by Secretary to management of Old Mill.   Rick made personal complaint .  Discussion on this matter was unanimous that such noise events should not occur. HCA supports any action, and will include this in licensing discussions according to Dry Zone enforcement.
