3. Minutes of Previous Committee Meeting April 11.

Clarification of item 4 re signage welcoming patrons behind shops.

4. Business Arising .

4.1 Dan Cregan. Member for Kavel to be guest speaker at AGM September 12th

4.2 Carl Nitschke car park sealed and lined.

4.3 Herald interview with Bruce.

5. Correspondence

In Dan Cregan. Stephan Knoll re possible meeting between DPTI, Council, HCA.

6. Sub committees.

6.1 Township Plan - Jean’s report tabled . To be read at June meeting.

6.2 Heavy transport - Malcolm reported sighting of 10 axle vehicle ie semi plus trailer. Need to reach out and emphasise need for run off ramps from and onto Freeway.

Phil agreed. Pine Ave and Verdun ramps to accommodate Echunga traffic.

Bruce commented that we should look to the future, itemise desired achievements and prioritise.

Also work cooperatively as a community to look at the issue of releasing land behind properties for parking. Government partnership to achieve a solution to parking and traffic problem.

Totness Industrial Park will affect traffic flow therefore must be diverted toward the roundabout.

Buses seen as traffic problem.-Harold.

A transport study was due May 5th

6.3 Creek precinct - Land owners generally unaware that they are responsible for creek health and clearing. Education required as insurance can be an issue if flooded. . Blockage on creek below Carl Nitschke Carpark. Jeff reported that he is working with DPTI, Council and NRM Board about the junction of

Onkaparinga River and creek. He also drew attention to the Seed blocks at end of Victoria St. The creek will have to be realigned before blocks can be sold .

The Water Management Plan is being reviewed. [Township plan]

6.4 Marketing - The AGM is a good venue for raising profile. Dan Cregan is single speaker. Meeting to be brief and sharp. Village Voice is our strongest outlet, but must be drawn to reader’s attention.

6.5 Events - Bruce reported that Anzac Day ceremony was brilliant.

[i] Wreaths - Report read from Janet re. wreaths made by community members. Discussion about growing number required, from local town groups and now outside groups.

Motion “That organisations be asked to pay $25.00 for wreaths supplied” Carried.

Debbie noted that this is an opportunity for promotion of HCA.

[ii] AGM - Thought floated regarding a questionnaire in September issue of Village Voice. Opportunity for questions from the floor encouraged.

6.6 Village Voice - Ready for early June.

7.0 Reports

7.1 Financial - Opening Balance $4412.00 Closing $4476.00.

7.2 - Council Matters .

$50,000 set for exploring development of fast transport options.

Carpark closed for sealing.

Further discussions re Globe Link.

Minister to require trucks exiting Totness Industrial Estate turn right.

Bus/ car collision on Main Street reported.

Water Management Plan commissioned for 2019.

Academy funding , Main Street funding for major upgrade.

Pedestrian crossing at Beerenberg, shared costs.

Oval irrigation and tennis court upgrade at Oval to be constructed.

7.3 Digital program - Tony reported business as usual .

8.0 Other Business

8.1 - There have been 1300 hectares of land developed in Mt Barker since 2010. But only 206 houses have begun to pay rates.

8.2 - Cedars Support .Lengthy discussion. $5million dollars spent on land, $7 million needed for building. HCA should advise of continued support and interest where appropriate. Harold noted that public safety requires monitoring on footpath to Cedars.

8.3 - Deb MacKay standing for Council election.

8.4 - Response to mail from Buchan family re guns on front of Wolf Blass museum.

8.5 - Harold spoke of permit to renovate no 94 Main Street . Eric undertook to speak with Simon Coote. Jeff look at plans .
