The Random Shopper - By Gail Vort-Ronald  (Extract from The Hahndorf Village Voice Issue 42, 2015)
May-Mays Asian kitchen opened in late March with old hands, Graham and Denise at the helm.  They previously owned the Mustard Seed restaurant in Hahndorf for five years so are well known in the town.

May-Mays cuisine is an array of different cultures which they have lived and experienced.  The cuisine ranges from Indian, Thai, Malay, Vietnamese and Burmese.  The menu includes entrees, soups, mains which include seafood and vegetarian dishes.  There are also several sides and condiments as well as some lovely desserts. The wine list boasts some of the best products of the Adelaide Hills wineries together with a range of beers and non-alcoholic drinks.

Situated next to the handbag shop where the previous Korean restaurant resided, they have refurbished the restaurant and it is bright, cheerful and cosy.  The kitchen is partially open which adds to the warmth and ambience.  The wonderful aromas emanating from the kitchen certainly add to the dining experience.

Denise (chef) also brings the meals to the table and explains each dish which gives a very personal approach to the diners.  Almost like being at the chef’s table.

As this business was on my list to investigate, a group of friends and I went for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  The prices are very reasonable and we each enjoyed our chosen dishes very much.

May-Mays also has a take-away menu with a 10% discount deal.
