*BLUNDEN, John Is this the native of Hampshire Mary Thomas mentions in her diary as having emigrated to SA and returned to England in 1839, expecting to come back to SA? The Blundens settled on a property called Gilleston Park, at Gilles Plains. Probably this family is related to Osmond Gilles. A Stephen Blunden settled on East Tce. Osmond Gilles gave Stephen’s daughter, Emily, Town Acre 435 in 1838, to mark her 18th birthday. Gilles recognised her as his niece. Emily Blunden, later wife of Frederick Walford solicitor Launceston, and then of Leominster, near Arundel, Sussex, England. Was the late Mrs O Gilles a Blunden?
