Information:
Located on 213 South Main Street, Graham, NC 27253, The Alamance County Arts Council is a commission of people dedicated to helping spread an appreciation of art to the people of Alamance County. The belief of the Council is that by including the arts in young children’s education, they can learn “self-expression, creative problem-solving, tolerance in diversity” as well as other skills.
There are different programs available, such as Community Classes and the Preschool Art Experience, to help encourage the exploration of art for all ages. Volunteering is also another possible way to get a hands-on experience of working in the arts. The House also hosts a vast amount of exhibits, featuring different photographers and artists .
The house was originally for the daughters of E.M. Holt, who lived in the house that eventually became the Alamance County Historical Museum. The house was renovated throughout the years until in 1990 when it was sold to the town of Graham for the Arts Council.
The Gallery and House is available to rent as well, for either simply artistic viewing or dinners and events.
