Children's Museum of Alamance County

A must see for any kid at any age!  This museum is interactive, colorful, and a great area for the family.

Dentzel Carousel

This carousel is a classic event in the Alamance area and is located in the Burlington City Park.

The Dentzel Carousel was built around 1906-1910 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The city of Burlington purchased the carousel during the summer of 1948.  Since then it has been a wonderful spot for families to enjoy a day out on a historic carousel.

One of the newer theatres in Alamance.  Check out a movie with your kid when the weather outside is less than desirable or you want some peace and quiet with your kids. Simply check the website for current ticket prices.

Carousel Cinemas has fantastic matinee prices that you can bring children to in order to enjoy low cost entertainment.

The theater also houses the Carousel Bistro on the second floor. There, families and other theatergoers can enjoy a quick meal of food such as hot dogs ad cheeseburgers. Patrons can also take advantage of the outdoor area, which overlooks Alamance Crossing. The Bistro opens on Fridays and Saturdays at 6pm.

Graham Square Pallet 

If you are looking for a place where kids can paint and have ice cream, the look no further than downtown Graham's own Square Pallet! Located across from the Graham Cinema, you walk in, pick a blank piece of sculpture, grab your colors and you begin painting. Each item is priced differently, written on the bottom. They also have a variety of ice cream flavors to offer to keep you coming back. 

 

Parks

For those who want to take advantage of the great outdoors, look at the local parks in Alamance County.

Joe C. Davidson Park is located right off of Rural Road. If you want your children to get out and play, this is a great place to do so. Your kids and their friends an play either baseball, softball, or soccer on the various field complexes.. Also, there is a playground centrally located between all of the fields. For the adults or young budding tennis players,  there are a set of courts. If you just want to take a nice walk together as a family, the park is surrounded by a walking path that is approximately 3/4 of a mile. After a long day of activity, families can sit in the pavillion area, where there are picnic tables set up, perfect for a nice lunch or snack.

Elon Football Games

Elon Football Games are a fun day out for everyone, parents and older siblings can watch the game, while the younger kids can play in the Kid Zone provided for free by Elon University. Luminaries is a tradition held on Elon's campus that is a community event for the city of Elon. This event is a tradition that honors all different religions and beliefs that you don't want to miss out on.
