About

Opened in 2007, Alamance Crossing  is a popular shopping center and gathering area for the people of both the city of Burlington and Elon University. This open-air shopping center is home to a multitude of stores and attractions for the Burlington area to enjoy. Such shops include larger “big box” merchants, like BelkDillard’sBarnes and Noble, and Kohl’s as well as smaller stores, such as Bath and Body WorksKay Jewelers, and GNC.

Other attractions in the area include the Carousel Cinemas, an outdoor play area for children, restaurants and dining locations. Local festivities are sometimes held here, as well.

The presence of Alamance Crossing allows Burlington residents to access top-level shopping and entertainment without having to travel farther to Greensboro or Durham

Many of the stores and restaurants within Alamance Crossing offer student discount prices as well, which makes the shopping center even more appealing to Elon University students.

Location

The retail and entertainment markets of Alamance County have become more prevalent due to the county's recent growth. One of the major destinations for retail and entertainment is Alamance Crossing, an open-air shopping center located off of University Drive. Alamance Crossing is easily accessible from Interstate 40/85 at exit 140. Its official address is 1080 Piper Lane in Burlington, North Carolina.

Hours 

The shopping center's hours vary, but it is usually open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM. Hours on Sundays are shortened to 12PM until 6PM. Restaurant hours and movie times are independent of the center's scheduled opening and closing times, however.

Attractions 

Movie Theatre: Carousel Cinemas

Carousel Cinemas is a movie theater located at 1090 Piper Lane in Burlington, NC. Elon University's Student Union Board (SUB) often sell discounted ticket prices, making the theater popular for students and Burlington residents alike.. Carousel Cinemas usually plays new releases and is home to many screens, and it is a must for moviegoers visiting Alamance Crossing. Children's Play Area

In the heart of Alamance Crossing is a small open play ground area for children to enjoy.

The area includes mini-rides and a enclosed, gated play area "The Grow  Healthy Garden" sponsored by Alamance Regional Medical Center

Comfort and Safety

Alamance Crossing is an off-campus stop for many Elon University students who are looking for fresh places to eat, stores to stock their closets, and a movie theater to catch up on current films. Alamance Crossing provides a safe and comfortable area to shop and explore with restrooms located behind Victoria's Secret and Ann Taylor Loft. There is also a policy enforced on the weekends to ensure the safety of youths under the age of 18. This policy states that on weekends after 6 pm any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or someone who is over the age of 21. This ensures the safety and well-being of all customers and shoppers in the complex.

 Many locations at Alamance Crossing accept Elon University’s Phoenix Cash system as an alternate method of payment.

Bio Bus 

Elon University provides a bus system for students to travel from campus around Alamance County and Burlington. The Elon Bio Bus stops at various locations throughout Burlington's shopping district. The Bio Bus runs at specific times and stops at specific locations that can be found on the Bio Bus website. The University Drive Line, which makes the stops at Alamance Crossing, runs Wednesday through Sunday and makes stops at nearby Lowes Foods and Target, as well as Alamance Crossing's Texas Roadhouse, Kohl's, and Dillards
