Elon Club Basketball

Club sports is a popular outlet for many students to play sports at universities all across America.  At Elon University, club basketball is one of the many fun activities that all students can participate in at some level.  Women’s and Men’s teams form around the middle of September, and with basketball being quite popular and the dues being relatively low (around $50), the teams always have plenty of students playing.  There are only 3 practices a week so it is quite manageable. The practices take place in either East or Jordan gym on Elon's campus.

The games are played according to NCAA rules: twenty minute halves with a running clock, each player is allowed five fouls, players may only play the ball for ten seconds in the backcourt, and each team has four full timeouts and two half timeouts.  All the games are officiated by campus recreation staff, and the time is kept by other campus recreation staff members.

Everybody is encouraged to come and cheer on their friends playing in these games. Having a crowd always makes it more fun to play because having fun is the point of participating in any sport, not just club basketball.
