  • Burlington Pediatrics: Three locations in Burlington (336-228-8316) and Mebane, which include walk-ins and weekend hours. They are available 24/7 for phone consultations. You can speak to a nurse from UNC Children's Hospital directly who will contact your doctor if need be. They serve infants, children and teenagers.

  • Alamance Eye Clinic (family optometrists and ophthalmologist). Locations in Burlington (Main office-336-228-0254) and Mebane.

Stores

  • Jack and Jill's Consignment: Join their Facebook page and get announcements about special sales and auctions. They often have 50% sales on both toys and clothing. You can also cash in your used women's & children's clothing, baby gear and supplies, furniture and toys. Items need to be taken into the store in a storage bin with lid. This will be returned to you. There is usually a week turn around time in which they will contact you regarding your items and give you your money. If you choose, they will donate the unwanted items as well.
  • Elegant Baby: Factory Boutique located in Burlington. Their hours vary but you can access them through their Facebook page.
  • Carter's Outlet-Tangier Outlets Mebane
  • The Children's Place and Old Navy-Alamance Crossing Burlington
  • Target, WalMart and Burlington Coat Factory (Baby Depot) carry a wide variety of children's gear as well.

Community Garage Sales

  • Mackintosh on the Lake. Huge community sale held in April each year. Hundreds of families in the community participate. Usually starts rain or shine 7:00am and runs until noon.
  • First Presbyterian Playschool of Burlington. Has two sales each year (March and August). Those who volunteer get first dibs on items at a special preview.

  • Beth Schmidt Park. Located in Elon. Perfect park for all ages, including babies and toddlers. Covered sand box, jungle gyms for all sizes (rubber cushioned ground underneath), bathrooms and dog park.
  • John Davidson Park. Located in Burlington. Has bathrooms, walking trail, tennis courts, soccer fields and jungle gyms for the kids.
  • Library Time. Depending on age group, May Memorial Library (downtown Burlington), Graham Public Library and Mebane Public Library have many programs (music, movies, books, crafts and games) for babies, toddlers, school-aged kids and teens.
