Burlington, NC City Park
The City Park in Burlington, NC is a fun recreational park for people of all ages. It includes 75 acres of land and includes popular amenities such as a restored Carousel, a playground, an athletic track, tennis courts, and a swim facility. Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in the entertainment area. The Dentzel Carousel is one of the biggest draws to the park. It has a long history and was built around 1908 and is composed of a menagerie of wooden animals. It was restored 80 years later and is open Easter weekend throughout the summer. Additionally, in September the park also holds the Burlington Carousel Festival which is a fun event with food and live music. This is a large contributor to the parks income as it attracts over 50,000 people. The park offers a season pass fee as well as a daily/activity fee. People often reserve birthday parties and picnic shelters to spend the day with a group and enjoy the beauty of Burlington. The park is located just a mile from downtown Burlington, so there are plenty of restaurants and other facilities at your disposal.
