Description
Thataways Youth Center is part of the Burlington City Park. The center caters to all ages, but is especially popular among middle and high school students. As a youth center, its goal is to provide a safe and functioning facility for all citizens to use their amenities.
Recently renovated, Thataways Youth Center is not only home to the Teen to Teen Theatre and the Burlington Youth Council, but it also has a small concession stand called City Perk. Students are able to purchase food and drinks such as: cappuccinos, slushies, sodas, hot dogs, pizza, nachos, and a special that changes weekly. In addition to the City Perk, four new televisions were installed and are linked with Time Warner Cable, making popular games and shows easy to view. There is also a DJ facility that has over 1100 CDs and playlists, that are changed and updated weekly. If the DJ facility or TVs are not enough entertainment for students, Thataways Youth Center also houses three pool tables, foosball tables, and arcade games.
Events and Other Information
Monthly events for the youth are scheduled at Thataways, including afterschool programs and dances, however the center can also be rented out for any kind of event. It is most commonly rented out for events such as family reunions, wedding receptions, and birthdays. However, the space is very versatile and can be used for almost any fun-filled event.
Finally, the Youth center is always looking for help!
