The new, LEED certified library building opened in November 2006. See the Alameda Magazine article for more information. http://www.alamedamagazine.com/Alameda-Magazine/January-February-2007/Grand-and-Green. The "new" library features computers, free wifi, a computer lab with classes, study and meeting rooms, as well as a quiet study room. For materials to borrow, the library offers books [of course!], dvds, cds, audio options, ebooks, as well as a seed and tool lending library. Books range from children's and teen's, to fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, exam prep, magazines, zines, ESL, and more. There is also a special Alameda and California Collection featuring historical materials.
