Programs and Projects
Alderson Community Market: Launched in Spring 2011, the Alderson Community Market strengthens its community and economy by creating opportunity for people to buy and sell locally produced goods. The vendors are local farmers and craft persons offering locally grown foods, home- baked goods, locally crafted items, and fresh roasted, ground coffee. The Market doubles the value of SNAP, Senior Voucher, and WIC purchases.
Alderson Green Grocer: The Alderson Green Grocer is a full service grocer and cafe, stocked with fresh, affordable, and local products. It is a project of the Alderson Community Food hub, an Alderson based non-profit. Our goal is to provide fresh, affordable and local products to Alderson and the surrounding area and to support local farmers and keep money in the community.
Community Garden: Alderson Community Gardens are located on the lot of St Mary of the Greenbrier Catholic Church and at the FEMA lot on the Monroe County Side of the river.
