The City of Ann Arbor runs it's own water treatment system, unlike many other nearby communities which depend on the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department.
Location
- 919 Sunset Road - main treatment plant and reservoir.
Water Sources
Water is drawn from the Huron River and a number of wells.
Storage
Water towers can be found in several places around the city.
- Plymouth Road east of Huron Parkway
- Manchester Road near Washtenaw Avenue, next to Summers-Knoll School and County Farm Park.
In addition, there are water storage tanks on South Industrial.
Settling pond
The settling pond can be viewed from the grounds of Wines Elementary School or from a short cul-de-sac at Saunders Crescent and Hatcher Crescent.
