Benton is located at US-12 and Feldkamp Road in Saline Township, four miles south of Bridgewater.

A saw mill was built on the location in 1824, and Chester Parsons, mill owner, was postmaster there in 1875.
Benton Cemetery is south of the corner, on Case Road.
