Sometimes I find a restaurant gem in the most simple - even dingy - settings. There is absolutely nothing to distinguish Big Sky Diner except for a neon sign outside the restaurant. It's located on the outskirts of downtown Ypsilanti, among rows of dilapidated buildings. Inside, the first thing you notice is the smoky smell.
Next, the atmosphere - very neat, with a booth-filled non-smoking sunroom. Great spot to read the paper with your breakfast. There's ample seating in the smoking section, too. (4 stars)
