There are no menus at Bill’s. If you’re not sure what you want, the attendant will quickly tell you what they offer. Hot dogs with or without chili, topped with your choice of onions, cheese, or mustard. Loose burgers are also offered. Many flock solely for the homemade root beer which can be ordered as-is, in a float, or by gallon. Potato chips are an option if you need a side. If that’s not simple enough for you then I think you may have some sort of problem. If you need something else other than that, get it another day because today you are having Bill's. This isn’t Pink’s or any kind of fancy Hollywood hot dog stand. They don’t need any other items. Their menu is perfect.

There funny buns are AWESOME!!!!!!!

Ryan Relitz: BEST CHILI DOG IN THE WORLD!

Dan Franks: Bill's Hotdogs is on US12 (Michigan Ave.) about 2 miles east of downtown Ypsilanti. They are "ok". They have been much better in past years. They don't even use fresh onions.. dehydrated ones. Actually Kluck's Drive-In on US12 in downtown Ypsilanti makes a much better chili dog.

Brenda: I grew up in Ypsilanti. I love Bills hot dogs and Root Beer! 40+ years.

Judy: BILLS DRIVE-IN IS THE BEST. THEY DO NOT USE DEHYDRATED ONIONS AS SOMEONE COMMENTED WHO OBVIOUSLY HAS NO IDEA... THEY PEEL AND GRIND FRESH ONIONS DAILY. ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE THAT IS MADE FRESH EVERYDAY... I KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE WORKED THERE FOR 14 YEARS... WE TAKE PRIDE IN SERVING ONLY THE BEST OF EVERYTHING. SO FOR THOSE WHO READ THIS PLEASE KNOW THAT ANY STATEMENT OTHER THAN THIS IS FALSE! THE BEST SERVES ONLY THE BEST FOR THE CUSTOMERS WHO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE....

Bill’s Hot Dog Stand is an Ypsilanti staple. The fact that they have survived for so long while only serving coney dogs and homemade root beer should tell you that they serve some damn fine coney dogs and homemade root beer! I have been eating there for well over 20 years and the quality of the food and service has not changed one bit. The staff is prompt and courteous; and the food is simple, delicious and inexpensive. The root beer is not to be believed. I have never tasted another root beer that even came close to Bill’s secret recipe. It is pure heaven served in a frosty glass mug. Combine that with some seriously scrumptious coney dogs (topped with FRESH onions, if you prefer) served up on a car window tray, and you wind up with a quintessentially American dining experience.
