Campus Smoke Shop

Located at 522 East Liberty, on the S.W. Corner of E. Liberty and Maynard Street

I am the oldest of five boys and we all remember and loved the Campus Smoke Shop. It was not the tobacco that interested us. Jacob Eskin, the owner of the shop, also stocked a wide assortment of just what little boys most like: itching powder, hand buzzers, packs of chewing gum that snapped you or were full of hot pepper, fart cushions, dribble glasses, vanishing ink, fake dog poop, and so much more. We couldn't wait to get downtown and spend some time there. Sadly, the Campus Smoke Shop was destroyed in 1974, and a Burger King replaces it. -- Michael Erlewine
