Daimler-Chrysler's primary American vehicle testing facility is located on M-52, just south of Chelsea in Sylvan Township; another test track is in Arizona. Like most auto companies, Chrysler has traditionally practiced security-through-obscurity, complete with their own no-fly zone over the facility to protect even the layout of their tracks from prying eyes. (This wiki author was harassed by security at the age of 12 for riding a bicycle through the proving grounds' employee parking lot.) The advent of high resolution satellite imagery, however, has reduced the effectiveness of this practice, with Google Maps recently upgrading the Chelsea area from a fuzzy green blur.
