Digital Ops gaming stations

Multiplayer gaming facility. They offer video games on their PCs, Xboxes, Playstation 2s and GameCubes, as well as internet access. Unique atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of 16-20 year old customers.

$4.00 per hour, $20 per 6hr. Block (Wed-Sun)

The business is looking to expand their facility in early 2007. Currently all that can be seen is a newly added door on the west wall. Occasionally it's open, no flooring or stations are visible at this point.

They currently have Counter-Strike:Global Offensive, League of Legends, DotA 2, Starcraft II, Teamfortress 2, & Hearthstone among many other games, and some customers would like to see them some games by request.

A Little History

Digital Ops opened in February of 1997 with eight stations in "The Cube". During this period Quake 1, Quake 2 (Action Quake), StarCraft, and Diablo I were the primary games being played.

Two - three years later The Cube was removed in favor of a larger station design to deal with the long weekend waiting lines, a tumultuous nine month period ensued while two banks of stations were added. Each capable of holding eight people for a total of sixteen spots. At this time, Action Quake was dying out and a mostly unheard of game called Counter-Strike beta .1 or .2 had entered the scene.

Around 2001 - 2002, along with a huge two day tournament for Halo saw the addition of two console stations. Eventually all three major consoles of that period could be played (Xbox, Playstation 2, and GameCube). Counter-Strike is still the most popular game being played at this point.

Recently (Late 2006) the console stations were removed to increase capacity for increased waiting lines. In place of it two PC's w/24" wide screen monitors were added. Though Counter-Strike Source is still one of the most popular games, Battlefield 2142 and World of WarCraft have helped change the atmosphere from a 'CS Only' Lan Center.
