The city of Ann Arbor currently (2014) charges a drinking water utility rate based on a "unit" of 100 cubic feet (ccf). A unit is equivalent to 748 gallons. A rate of $5 per unit is equivalent to a rate of $0.0067, or a bit more than half a cent per gallon. The city uses a tiered system of rates for drinking water based on consumption. Rates that apply to most residential consumers of Ann Arbor water are charted and tabled below.
