In the news

From pork chops to ribeye steaks, T-bones to brisket, Ernst Farm of Ann Arbor sells all kinds of natural, hormone and steroid-free beef, pork and lamb cuts at both the Westside and Ann Arbor Farmers' Markets. What's available depends on the week, says Joan Ernst, who, along with Alvin Ernst, runs the 250-acre Ernst Farms. The other 600 acres are rented and farmed, as well.

"The Ernsts believe they can do better as they build a larger clientele. The key to that is the quality and freshness of their product, Alvin Ernst said. "We've had people come to us and say they've never tasted anything so fresh," he said."
