Obituary

VandenBosch, Ewell Gurley Ann Arbor, MI Age 93, completed her life's work on earth and peace-fully rejoined her husband Wallace VandenBosch on Thursday, January 6, 2011. She was born in Lexington (Scott's Hill), TN on March 4, 1917, the daughter of Isham and Allie (Scott) Gurley. She lived for her family, fully enjoying her roles as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother along the way. She was an avid gardener, and worked diligently alongside her husband raising two sons, building several houses, and running the VandenBosch Horse Training Center in Chelsea, MI. She is survived by two sons, Keith (Kay) VandenBosch and David (Sandy) VandenBosch; her granddaughters, Theresa (Jeff) Helm and Cheri (Tim Wheaton) VandenBosch; great-granddaughters Stephani and Marissa Morris; step-grandchildren Ginny (Greg) Lickliter and Rob (Kristi) Vaupel and their children; brother Max (Sarah) Gurley, and Mary Vanden Bosch, mother of grand- daughters Theresa and Cheri; several nieces and nephews and their families who loved her dearly. After nearly 60 years of marriage, Wally passed away in June 2001; also going before her were her twin sister Jewell Stubblefield, sister Lorene Scofield and brothers Willard and Neil Gurley. Ewell's family will receive friends at the Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor on Monday, January 10, 2011 from 5 - 8 pm. A celebration of Ewell's life will be held on Tuesday, January 11th at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washtenong Memorial Park.
