Starts at North University as Geddes Avenue, and heads east; when it crosses the Huron River or thereabouts it turns into Geddes Road. The section heading down towards the river from North U. is hilly, and runs by many of the nicer homes in Ann Arbor. Geddes road continues into Superior Township quite a ways and is a pleasant country drive. The road is named after John and Robert Geddes, who in 1825 settled in section 36 of Ann Arbor Township and established on the Huron River a sawmill which resulted in a small settlement called Geddesburg Source .
Roundabouts (new in 2010) whisk traffic on and off the expressway.
