It's large - Kitchen Chick's review calls it "The Meijers of Asian grocery stores."

At Hua Xing, you can shop over 40,000 specialty items from China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and India. Our selections range from fresh vegetables, live seafood and fine ginseng to supplemental teas, delicate chinaware and practical electronics.

Steve Xiao, manager of the Hua Xing Asia Market in Ypsilanti, Mich., said the former showroom that is now his grocery store had something else going for it: The price was right. "We were really interested when we heard they were selling and moving somewhere else," he said. "The first year, the price was too high. When we finally bought it, it had been on the market almost two years."

Reviews

The selection seems to lean toward Chinese foods. Their (cold) fruits & vegetables room has an amazing amount of fresh things, including an impressive selection of chois, as well as things like preserved eggs and dried shrimp. The refrigerated coolers have many different kinds of fresh noodles, but the kimchi is pre-packaged, from New York. The frozen sections have all sorts of things, from pre-made dumplings to whole fish and other meats. However, their selection of things like Pocky and gummy candies is lacking. Still, it's hard to complain about an Asian grocery that seems to carry so much.

"Definitely the biggest selection I've seen at an Asian market."
