Iva Jo Bialec, of Augusta Township, was a Democratic party candidate for Washtenaw County Sheriff in the August 2008 Primary. Bialec previously served as Augusta Township Clerk from 2000-2004, and previously worked in accounting for Ford Motor Company.

Bielec was elected Augusta Township clerk in 2000. She survived a recall election in 2003, before losing in the 2004 Democratic primary.

Bialec has no experience in policing, but says she would focus on management and budgetary issues within the Department.

Bialec came in third in primary voting.
