Actor Jeff Daniels lives in Chelsea, where he grew up; his father Bob Daniels runs the Chelsea Lumber Company.

Daniels founded Chelsea's acclaimed Purple Rose Theater, a non-profit theater company named one of Daniels' first movies, the Woody Allen film The Purple Rose of Cairo.
