Before Kana it was Omega Pizza which was where my brother would always want to order from when we were kids, and I liked something else, which I don't remember! I don't remember the earliest time I know it existed, either late 60's or very early 70's. Kana eventually to w. liberty and then the owners left to be missionaries in Africa leaving the children to takeover and they reinvented it into Pacific Rim, which is good, but I miss the more basic charms, simpler good food, cheaper prices and intimate feel the owners had with customers. I especially miss what they called fried chicken, which was a delicate and really good chicken tempura with a great sauce. The owners had said you could get a recipe book of the old dishes from them if one wanted, I don't know if you still can through the children or if in fact the children still run Pacific Rim.
