LeFurge Woods is the heart of 1,100 acres of preserved land in Superior Charter Township, extending north and east from the intersection of Prospect Road and Geddes Road. The preserve is owned by the Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy and is open to the public, with entrances on Prospect - access beyond the entrances is limited to foot traffic; no bicycles or cars.

The preserve includes wooded areas as well as former fields reverting to prairie (come prepared with medicine if you're allergic to pollen), a wetland restoration project, and some working farmland under conservation easement. Several trails are mown through the preserve to provide access throughout.
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year to help the Conservancy pull trash out of the woods, remove invasive species, etc - see the Conservancy's volunteer page for details on both drop-in volunteer opportunities and group service project scheduling. The Conservancy additionally holds a monthly full moon campfire at the Preserve.
