Lloyd E. "Bud" Fairbanks, Jr.  (b. March 19, 1933; d June 7, 2011) served as a Republican on the Ann Arbor City Council representing Ward 5 from April 1970 to April 1974.

78, of Iron River, MI / Sun City, AZ, died peacefully June 7, 2011,at Hospice of the Valley in Sun City. He was born on March 19, 1933 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, son of his late parents Dorothy and Carl Kazmaier, and Lloyd E. Fairbanks Sr. Affectionately nick named "Bud", he grew up in and around Ann Arbor. He served in the US Army 1953-5 and was very patriotic. Lloyd graduated from Pasadena City College. He married his dear wife, Mary Ann (Konwinski) on Nov 29 1958 and they enjoyed 52 years of married life together. They had two children, Tracy and Andrew. Lloyd had a lifelong career in banking, holding various positions through the years, retiring in 1998. He's lived in Ann Arbor, MI, Seattle, WA, Canton, OH, Marquette, Grand Rapids, Saginaw, and Iron River, MI, and Sun City AZ. Service embodied who Lloyd was as evidenced by his active participation in many civic organizations, to include the American Legion, Ann Arbor City Council, Chamber of Commerce, Christmas in July (Saginaw), Elks, Friends of Camp Batawagama, Golden K, Iron County Museum Endowment Board, the JayCee's, Rotary Clubs in various cities, Saginaw Community Foundation board. Too he got involved with numerous charities, to include fundraising efforts for Bay Cliff Health Camp. He enjoyed his membership within the United Church of Sun City, Trinity Lutheran Church, and other churches throughout his lifetime (where he's participated in choir's, finance committee's and endowment boards). Over time he's belonged to several golf clubs, and the Grand Rapids Shubert Club. Additionally he liked to golf, sing, bowl, enjoyed music, and most of all being with family and friends. He enjoyed Michigan football, stained glass, even was a bit of a shopper and enjoyed antiques. Traveling was fun for him as well. Lloyd always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He was a giving man, always thinking and always on the go, full of kind deeds for his fellow man. He had a great sense of humor. Lloyd/Bud was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed, lived a full but never long enough life, is free, and lives on with the Lord. Lloyd was preceded in death by parents and brother in law Jack Fillinger. Survived by wife Mary Ann Fairbanks of Iron River, MI /Sun City, AZ, son Andy of Portland, OR, daughter Tracy (Boyd) of Wake Forest, NC, sister Dorothy of Saline, MI, grandchildren Caleigh and Victoria of Wake Forest, NC; also four special nephews John (Libby), Mike, Matt (Nancy) & Chris (Gwen), and their children. Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 2pm, June 12, at United Church of Sun City, 11250 N. 107th Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351.
